[As if Skye had to be told twice. Wrapping her arms around Clara's waist, her grip tightened a little at the engine revved up. The time it took back to Skye's was considerably faster than walking, but also a lot colder. Once they pull up to the road Skye lives on, she points out which house is hers.
Getting off the bike once it was off, Skye laughs as she takes off the helmet.]
[Clara smiles - a quiet, secret smile, like she's waiting for something - and watches as Skye unlocks the front door. The second the other girl's back is turned, stepping over the threshold, Clara reaches up and musses her hair to match.]
Yours, too. [Then, because she's an absolute nightmare of a person, Clara adds, ] Bet I can get it even cuter.
[Clara really knows how to lay it on thick, and yet somehow it works for her. Turning around to face Clara after shutting the door, Skye isn't sure if she should make the first move or not. Not that she would admit it, but it's been a while since she's been with anyone, and even longer since she's been with someone for the first time.
Taking off her coat was probably a good first step though, right? Hanging it up on the coat rack, Skye can feel her confidence deflating just a little bit.]
I don't have a lot in the house, but do you want a drink?
Certainly not straight, [Clara jokes, eyes still on the cabinets, bright and envying. When she turns back to Skye, it's with a laugh at her own joke.] Mixed. Coke's fine.
Okay, even you have to admit that was pretty lame.
[Skye still laughs in spite of herself. Grabbing two glasses from one of the cabinets, Skye sets them and the vodka down and gets the coke out of the fridge to mix them both drinks. She's still feeling pretty buzzed from earlier, although the ride back home had definitely sobered her up a little.]
Why do I suddenly feel like I have competition?
[Skye had noticed the way she was looking at her cabinets so of course, she has to call her out on it.]
Well if you can tear yourself away, I figured we could go sit in the living room.
[Skye had recently gotten one of the flat screen TVs at Stacy's, which did look a bit out of place with most of the decor in her house, but it was nice to actually own a TV.]
[Nodding her head in the direction of the living room, Skye grabs the drinks and heads over to the couch. The living room is pretty sparse, but she kind of likes it that way. Skye was never able to have clutter because she was always moving to different places. Once Clara is sitting down she hands over her drink.
In all honesty, Skye isn't sure what to say. Which is a rarity because she usually never shuts up.]
[Clara's apartment back home was filled with clutter. Photos, knick knacks, odds and ends from her hectic life and all of her travels, scattered on every shelf. She had stashed a few of them away on her TARDIS, things she knew her family wouldn't notice missing and wonder about, but she still misses the comfort of having her life spread out around her. As frequently as she travels, she's still a bit of a nester.
Taking the drink from Skye, Clara makes herself comfortable - or at least, politely comfortable. She leans back and crosses her legs at the knee, dress riding up to show more of her black tights. Taking a sip of her drink (and not even grimacing this time) she smiles over at Skye.]
At the risk of making this cheesy, you're really just as stunning as your cabinets.
[Eyes widening at the line Clara just gave her, Skye can't help but laugh in response.]
That was pretty cheesy.
[And yet again, it works. Somehow. Turning so she was facing Clara a bit more, Skye takes a sip of her drink before resting it against her lap, smiling sincerely at her.]
I'm glad you asked me to go out tonight. I needed this more than I'm probably willing to admit.
[Her voice is polite as usual, almost proper, but there's a growing heat behind it, in heavy-lidded eyes and the subtle angle of her body. Of course she'll sit here on the couch as long as Skye wants to, gladly sipping questionable liquor and enjoying the company, but her skin itches to see what comes next.]
Well, now you just ruined a perfectly good evening by bringing that up.
[Skye truly enjoys the stupid back and forth banter they can have, while both of them know just how stupid it is. Taking another sip of her drink, Skye's nose wrinkles up.]
That really is awful.
[Not that most of the alcohol here was that great. Leaning forward to place her glass on the table, Skye then sits up a bit straighter.]
I haven't really had the chance to show off what I've done with the rest of my place. You want a tour?
[Skye reaches out to grab hold of Clara's hand. There really isn't that much to show off, she's already seen the kitchen and living room. There are two bedrooms, but one of them has absolutely nothing in it. She does show her the bathroom though before leading her to the grand finale. Her heart is racing the entire time, because, well. It's been a while. Even more than a while since she's been with anyone but Miles.
She tries to act like this is not a big deal at all, and she does a pretty good job of being convincing. Hopefully. Once they're in the room Skye turns to face her.]
[Most of the time it's just easier for Skye to act on impulse. Like right now, when Clara asks her if she's still okay with where this is headed. Still holding onto her hand, Skye leans down in an attempt to kiss her.
She's so good with this, and she hopes Clara is too.]

I need to get one of those.
[As if Skye knew how to ride one.]

[She climbs off, and looks up at Skye's little house.]
Cute place.
[It's genuine and reverent; her own cottage looks like actual garbage in comparison.]

[Digging into the pocket of her coat, Skye pulls out the keys to her house and looks over to Clara with a huge smile on her face.]
Cute hair.
[Obviously it's sarcasm because Clara's hair is completely windblown. Reaching over Skye tries to fix it quickly.]

[Clara follows her host's example, sliding her jacket onto a hook.]
Anything but whiskey is fine.

[And that's a total lie. Smiling at her own, possibly terrible, joke, Skye nods her head in the direction of the kitchen.]
I have beer and vodka.

[Feigning a dramatic exasperated, Clara toes off her boots and follows.]
Wow. [Her eyes widen when more of the house comes into view, namely that glorious kitchen.] Alright, I'm officially jealous.

[Some of the shelves are completely empty, but she's pretty happy with how she's managed to organize what little she has.]
If it makes you feel better, I barely cook in here. The house just came like this.

Maybe. But maybe I want you to myself.

I've got no arguments.

It's pretty basic, but it does the job.
[Of sleeping in it. Obviously.]

[A mattress on the floor isn't super conducive to company, and neither is the big grey stick insect who skulks around.
Her smile softening, Clara turns to face Skye. She squeezes her hand, light and assuring.]
You still good with this?
