This is number three for me. Was in this storybook hell, then space hell, now I’m on to horror movie hell, lucky me.
[ Sigh. Blake’s so used to it all, he’s fairly certain he’ll never make it back to his own life again. ]
It’s all been so random, I dunno what to make of it. For a long time I just thought maybe I was in a coma, then I realized the world most certainly doesn’t revolve 'round me, so that just means we’re all unlucky bastards.
[ It’s most definitely a lot to take in, which John often forgets. He doesn’t open up to many people — even in Deerington, it’s just a handful — so he doesn’t even have a ton of practice in it, even if it seems like he should. ]
Haven’t gone home, no. Time is weird, too, so it’s a bit hard to know how long I’ve been at stuck now. Coupla years.
It’s not just me, either. There’s others, but not anyone from where I’ve been, although, uh, diff’rent versions of people I’ve known when I was there.... if that makes sense.
[Well, this is terrifying to think about. If this could happen to him, it could happen to her.]
Years?
[Now he’s got her freaking out over this, so at least being terrified of how she opened up to him that one time was pushed to the back of her mind for now.]
[ John frowns a bit. Maybe he shouldn't have said anything at all. Then again, he's never been the type of guy to hold his tongue. ]
Not so far as I can tell, no. This place really messed with my head, though, 'cause suddenly everything's supposed to be a dream. I started thinkin' maybe everything before was a dream, too.
[ He scrubs at the back of his neck and then takes a more purposeful lean. If he hasn't forgotten his earlier tasks, he's put them aside for now. ]
[...Yeah, her mind could easily spiral right now, but she doubts Blake wants to witness that kind of thing. So she’ll just go back to drinking her coffee.]
Yeah.
[Skye smiles as she looks down at the cup she’s placing back down on the countertop.]
It’s about the only thing that doesn’t suck about this place.
[And it’s not her just saying that in an effort to get away from this topic. Sure, it was awkward as hell, but it happened and there’s not a lot that can be done about it now.]
Would be even better if I could get a top up on this coffee though.

[...Yeah, trying not to freak out right now.]
Have you ever gone back home? Or is it just one place after another?
[She’s trying to figure out an explanation as to how this could happen, but she’s got nothing.]

On the bright side, I've made a lotta friends.

So, you're okay? We're okay? I know it's not necessarily the solution to this problem we've got, but we're talkin' at least.
