Working this closely with the Avengers was something Skye still wasn't used to completely. Being in the same room with them at first made her internally scream. Although she was slowly getting used to walking into a room and seeing someone like Captain America in there.

Finding the bus a lot more quiet to focus on, Skye took a seat on one of the tables and went to work on her computer. Although she was distracted when she saw Steve Rogers enter the room.

"Hey. What's up?"

It's not an arrangement he's entirely comfortable with. Steve recognizes the value of this partnership. One, clearly they're going to do this no matter what he says. Fury and Maria are enabling them, after all. Their work did help save many lives including his own in Sokovia. Clearly they are capable of good. Two, it increases the chances the screw ups he has heard about won't repeat themselves. Natasha was able to find out a lot in that regard. It nearly destroyed what good will they had earned.

The Avengers aren't perfect by any means, but they didn't violate the Geneva convention at seemingly every opportunity or kidnap each other so he felt okay about telling them what to do occasionally. Read: when someone comes up with the bright idea to illegally lock suicidal prisoners in solitary confinement or fail to get appropriate medical treatment for someone. You know the little things.

It's little surprise he gets along with Skye so well really. He never has to be the guy to point out she can't do xyz. She just does her job nobly and responsibly. No lectures required. Maybe that's why he feels comfortable asking for this particular favor. "Do you mind helping me with a side project?"

"I need you to help me find a guy." He leans against the nearest wall and crosses his arm. It's clear this is serious business. "He got messed with by HYDRA. Brainwashing, experimentation; the whole nine yards. I want to get him help, but he's doing a great job evading me. I'm worried if I bring in anyone else they'll think he should be... taken out."

He clearly doesn't want that. Steve works his jaw a moment before continuing. "I've watched you. You don't kill your problems. You try to help. That's all I'm asking for."
