CHIRPER
Welcome to our bi-monthly CHIRPER post!

There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:

• Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
• When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya, or by other characters on behalf of their friends! This includes the Q&A section.
• Characters can either like or dislike others' CHIRPER profiles. These responses are public.
• This is voluntary on an OOC basis; if the character doesn't have a profile completed by themselves or anyone else, nothing shows up for them on CHIRPER.
• For those who do post a top level, profiles are worth 5 extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These 5 extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.

This month there is a special ✨ HOLIDAY SEASON ✨ addition: instead of ✓ or ✕ for like or dislike, it's 🎄 and 🔪. Whatever the character has the most votes for shows up appended to their username on the network for the next month, as in, un: aurora 🎄.

[ The video feed shows a weary looking man who appears disoriented but in good health. He went from disappearing from Auriel to returning to his own world, living his life for a year, attending a somber matter in the realm of dreams, to returning to Etraya.

For anyone who knew him previously, Hob Gadling looks a bit different with a changed haircut and a beard, but it's undoubtably him. Looking into the camera, he offers a sheepish smile. ]

Hello. Uh, not that anyone probably noticed, but I took a little detour on the way back to Etraya. I went home. I'm not sure how much time has passed here since our mission to the fairy lands, but it's been a year for me. My name is Hob Gadling, and I'm just a man from Earth with some extraordinary stories to tell. Much of which I've kept to myself in the year and a half I've lived in Etraya prior to my trip home.

[ He shakes his head, as if removing the cobwebs after a deep sleep. ]

Anyway, I just wanted to say I'm back. Oh, and Happy Christmas. Or.. New Year. Whichever is closest.

[If anyone hasn’t seen Jayce within the past few months, he looks quite a bit different. His hair is longer, he has a beard, and doesn’t seem quite as full of energy as he might have in the past. He’s also not dressing as uptight as he used to— a lack of vest and tie, exchanged for just a simple button up shirt. The background is once again S.T.A.R. labs, although he’s not trying to hide it this time.]

Hey, Etrayans. For those new to this whole thing, welcome. I’m Jayce Talis. For those who came from Pollux, also welcome. I can say with full confidence Aurora’s better at this than Castor is.

[Aurora probably won’t appreciate that comment, but whatever. He stands by it. But that aside…]

I’m putting out a call for fellow scientists to come together and work collaboratively on research involving what we know about Etraya, and more importantly, what we don’t know. This could also include strategizing developments to improve our lives here, and solving problems with our understanding in our respective fields. 


Something that we have here that we lack in our own worlds is the variety of perspectives. In my world, some of our greatest achievements are beyond what’s possible in other worlds, but we don’t have plastics or microwaves. Think of this as an opportunity for all of us to better ourselves, in this… transient existence we’re all stuck in.

Meetings would be here, in S.T.A.R. labs, every Thursday morning. No requirements if you want to participate other than an open mind, and a good attitude. No shooting down suggestions without hearing things out, and if you happen to have some sort of grudge against any of the participants here, you leave it at the door when you come in, or you’re not coming in.

I've taken the liberty of using some points to request a static copy of Wikipedia be added to the network. For those unfamiliar, Wikipedia is an exhaustive collection of factual information compiled and verified by volunteers worldwide. You might consider it a digital version of the library.

For further information, I recommend the Wikipedia article on Wikipedia.

Notable features include:
    (1) It is uneditable to maintain the integrity of the source information.
    (2) You may, however, leave comments and participate in resulting forum-like conversations.
    (3) All pages with information possibly pertaining to a resident's personal history have been removed to ensure privacy.
    (4) This is a representative snapshot of Wikipedia from our collective source worlds where that is an internet-capable Earth. I'm told it's circa 2025 CE.

I do not intend to offer assistance in utilizing this resource, but the companion bots have a digital literacy module and should be able to serve in that capacity if anyone has a need.

it's that time again. hello, i'm sophie cuckoo, your resident former-hivemind telepathic mutant, owner of nyx. what is nyx you ask its a community center where we offer classes and homemade food made by and for etrayans. we go from magic to engineering and design, all the way to swordfighting so there's quite a few classes and i'll just let the teachers talk about it in the comments etc etc etc. i teach ethics and applications, by the way. wanna teach talk to me wanna take a class talk to me wanna eat just show the fuck up wanna eat and dont wanna show up just let me know and we'll deliver.

uuuuuuuusually this post goes with a 'tell me your problems and i'll solve it' so there's that option but i'll do something else too as a treat. whats the most creative use you ever found for a power or ability, and if you don't have one, choose one and come up with something bonkers. or well you can tell me a problem to solve that always works out too

[Today’s video feed is of a fit man in his early twenties and wearing his usual brown leather jacket over a red hoodie. He’s standing in front of a large auto repair shop. The shop’s front sign is also visible and says Grease Lightning! Next to the shop’s name is a black and white totally cool mascot.

For those who are especially observant, you may also notice a red-wing blackbird hanging around and making a nest near the shop’s sign]

Hey, so I don’t know how many of you need to know this but I run the auto shop now.

[Jason then walks and moves the camera to show the shop’s interior. It’s spacious and there’s a variety of equipment and basic spare parts needed to fix vehicles. Tucked in one corner of the shop is a books shelf already filled to capacity, a desk, and a chair.

The camera then switches back to Jason]

Not much else is gonna change. Feel free to drop by if you need repairs or wanna mod something. The place is big enough that you can do it yourself or if you want me to help, just let me know.

[The red-wing blackbird then suddenly zooms above Jason and lands near his bookshelf. Jason looks back at his pet mildly annoyed before turning back to the camera]
