Alright, so I'm not caught up on British Culture. Sue me.

[She's not actually offended by Clara laughing at her. In fact, she says all of that with a smile on her face.]

That you have to save the coin?

[She answers by reaching over the table and plunking the silver coin right into Skye's wine glass.]

She's drowning, Skye. Better hurry.

You're evil.

[Still, Skye picks up her glass and chugs back the nasty wine, only stopping when she feels the coin hit her lip.

Not so graciously she picks out the coin while coughing.]

I think I'm going to stick to what I got.

[Skye chokes out, eyes watering as she reaches for her drink and takes a sip from it. Not that it helps much. Wiping her cheeks to get rid of the tears, Skye shakes her head disapprovingly at Clara.]

That was cruel and you know it.

[Standing up enough to be able to lean over the table and reach Clara's glass, Skye plops the coin in there.]

Only fair.

[Clara's ankle brushes against Skye's as she lifts up her own glass, rattling the coin around.]

Cheers.

[Aaand she drains it swiftly and easily, no trace of the grimace she'd shown at the taste of the whiskey and coke. Even in the height of her youth she was never one to drain drinks at the chance of impressing boys, but she wants to see the awed look in Skye's eyes again. Tongue darting out to collect a drop from the corner of her mouth, she deposits the coin on the table and pours herself another glass.]

You alright?

[And she gets that awed look with the way she drinks the entire glass like it's water. Tongue pressing against the inside of her cheek, Skye fails not to smile even bigger when Clara gets very coy. She sees what you're doing, Clara.]

Apparently not as good as you.

[It doesn't take very long for that warm feeling to spread throughout her body as the alcohol hits her. She has to wonder if that would've done anything to Clara. She still finds it hard to believe someone as small as her can hold their alcohol as much as she says she can.]

Why do I feel like that isn't the first time you've tricked someone into doing this game?

[Probably because Clara is cheeky enough to do just that.]

I'm pretty persuasive.

[Mainly with her words, but she's not ashamed to use the right bat of her eyelashes in a case like this.]

Yeah, I'm noticing that.

[Not that she's at all mad by it. She had noticed the dartboard before, but now she's got an idea in mind. Which would hopefully be payback for what Clara just did to her.]

I've got an idea if you're game.

Yeah? [You've got her absolute attention.] What do you have in mind?

We play 7 rounds of darts, and whoever wins has to buy the losers least favorite shot and they have to drink it.

[And Skye is just confident enough in her dart skills to think she'll win this.]

[And Clara has just enough of a sobriety advantage to think she might have a sliver of a chance.]

You're on.

[It's not until she starts to stand up that she feels the alcohol hit her.]

Holy shit.

[Skye laughs though because, well, she's tipsy as hell.]

Please tell me you at least feel something right now so I don't feel like such a lightweight.

Would you like to consider a forfeit?

[Not that she'd make Skye drink anything else unless she wanted to, when there's already such a difference between their states of inebriation.]

[Skye is too stubborn and competitive to give up that easily.]

Why? Are you afraid of losing?

[Skye is totally fine, so what if she's holding onto the table?]

Nah, I'm not afraid of anything.

[A statement that's, like, 80% true at least.]

[Skye doesn't quite believe that, but she doesn't say anything. Pushing off the table, Skye walks over to where the dartboard is and pulls out the darts and holds them out to Clara.]

Here, pick which color you want to be.

Yellow.

[She plucks it from Skye's hand with a smile - it matches her sweater, after all - and gives it a little spin, feeling the weight of it.]

Yellow it is.

[Smiling in amusement when Clara takes them from Skye, she outstretches her arm, gesturing towards the board.]

After you.

[Clara laughs, a single little bark of, Really?]

I just throw it, yeah?

[Which... she does, then, without further instruction. She scrunches one eye closed, like she's looking through a scope, and tosses the thing as straight as she can.

It lands firmly in the outer ring of the board.]

Yeah, just, you know, try to aim for the board.

[Skye is not going to give her advice, sorry Clara. Pressing her lips together to keep from laughing at the face Clara makes as she tries to line up her shot, Skye follows the dart when she finally throws it.

Nodding her head once when she manages to at least get it on the board, Skye looks back to Clara.]

Not bad. Now you have to throw the other two.

[That's the only advice you're getting from her, Clara. Skye is in this to win it. So what if she rocks a little forward before correcting herself. See? Perfectly balanced and not at all becoming increasingly tipsy from chugging that wine.]

[Clara watches, her smile between amused and devious.]

Can you aim for the board?

[The other two darts land with similar luck, sticking in the edges.]

[Skye scoffs as she steps up next to Clara.]

Please. I'm barely tipsy.

[Clearly. Holding up her first dart, Skye straightens up and tries to stay as still as she can before throwing it. Landing right on the border of the bullseye. Pretty happy with herself, Skye throws the next, which lands to the left in the second circle.

It's fine. She can totally recover.

Except, the last one lands on the wall beside the dart board. Making a noise of frustration, Skye walks to the board to write down their scores. And just because she knows Clara would say something, she says on her way:]

Still did better than you.

[ohshutup]

[Oh, you don't want to say that, Skye. Something sharpens in Clara's smile, and while Skye is still writing, there's a thwick from behind her.]

Not bad.

[Closer to the bullseye, just a ring away. Her tongue peeks from the corner of her mouth in concentration, as the second dart lands not much farther away.]

[Skye is calculating the points in her head when she hears a dart hit the board. Hand still holding the chalk, Skye turns to look at the board and then back over her shoulder to Clara.]

Oh, it's going to be like that?

[Was Clara only pretending to be bad up until this point?]

[ohshutup]

[Nah, no pretending. Just a fuckton of determination.]

Yes, it absolutely is.

[... And maybe the third dart lands a little farther away, but it's still far better than her first set. She smiles at Skye, one-hundred percent flirtatious.]

[Biting the tip of her tongue, Skye raised an eyebrow before nodding her head once.]

Alright, good to know.

[Finishing up the scores for this round, Skye heads back over to where Clara was.]

What if we up the ante a little?
