Live fast, die young [ingrantitude]
Daisy gripped the door handle as Grant floored it. Stealing a car is not what she had in mind for the day, but there were a lot of surprises for her lately. She offered to help him hot wire it but then he just pulled out the keys and showed them to her. Sometimes she underestimated his swiftness. It was certainly up there with hers.
"You can be such a show off sometimes!" Daisy shouted against the wind.

She had to do something though. Which was probably stupid, but their guns were useless in this scenario.
Inhaling deeply, Daisy unbuckled her seat belt.
"Warn me if we're going to turn."
Turning around in her seat, Daisy moved to sit on her knees, gripping the back of the seat as she raised one hand up. Focusing all of her energy on the cars behind her, the ones chasing them and using that force to plow them down.
Sometimes her powers certainly came in handy.

"How many cars are left behind us?"
no subject
"Wouldn't count on that lasting though." She reaches over to turn on the radio, listening for any possible reports.

"I'll take you to your SHIELD safehouse." He turned, far less harder then he did.
"Your people didn't have to do that." Shield helping hydra out back there. He grimaces. What is saying thank you.

"I can't offer you meaningless words of comfort."
no subject
"Yeah? Well, you were never good at comforting anyway." Now she knew why. Well, she thought she did.
The fact that they didn't seem to be followed right now made the turns a lot less sharp and Daisy let her grip up just a little.
Her eyes flickered from the mirror back to him, taking in his appearance. Despite moving on, sometimes she thought she still saw the old him in there. Then she had to remind herself that he was always like this, he just hid it very well behind a facade of being a good guy.

She was in no hurry to comfort him but, "...What was the name of the guy who lost his arm. Joe?"
He looks away, "He didn't have to try and protect my people. That was..."
"He was one of yours?"
Speak of her dead. Compliment. I can't say I'm sorry for it. I can't. It feels like there's something thick in my throat.

Swallowing thickly when he mentions Joey, Daisy looks over to him. Honestly expecting for him to say something, well, Ward like.
"Joe, yeah." Daisy said, voice tight.
She's surprised when he actually said something nice. Even if he couldn't exactly get the words out.
"Yeah." Daisy looks ahead again. He doesn't need to see the tears welling up in her eyes. "He was one of mine."

he shouldn't have done that. "Helping my people, my team he -"
He knows what he was before the terragenesis event. He makes another turn and looks at her, "...Thank him. HYDRA will honor him." Yes, there that sounded right, that sounded good, it-
"....If he hadn't done what he did Alex would be dead. That matters to me. Thank him."
"He was a good SHIELD agent."
It spills out and Ward will stay silent on that matter. He cares about Alex. Ever since this started, since those aliens appeared, he's cared for Alex. For his inhumans.

She wants to ask what it was he wanted, or what he was up to. However that probably wasn't a good idea when he was the one driving right now.
"I will." And she actually means that, because Joey would probably appreciate it. Daisy, at the very least, hadn't gone into detail with Joe over who Ward was and who he pretended to be. It wasn't necessary to get the job done and it was obviously a sore subject for her.
"Damn." She had caught sight of something out of the side mirror.
"They finally caught up again."
In other words: floor it.

"Nobody steals my property."
Ever see James Bond?
Ever see an actual spy car? His may not fly but he does have two rockets that fly out of the trunk - hitting acar that goes spinning back in the process. There are loud explosions and a few screams.
Ward smiles.

"...Are you shitting me?"
Lola was a pretty impressive car to begin with. The fact that Ward had that sort of feature on his car surprised her though. Although this was good to know should the waters turn again and once again they are on opposing teams.

He grimaces, pulling to a stop in front of a squat low brown building. He tapped the wheel.
"....SHIELD's safehouse."
no subject
When they stopped at the safehouse, Daisy looked over to him briefly before she undid her seat belt..
"Where are you going to go now?"
no subject
Yet. But he won't say that. Shield needs to be removed but there's a real flicker of truth when he turns to look at her, "...They need me."
Like you used to. Like Fitz used to.

Daisy is, however, taken back by the look on his face and the way he really believed he was needed by people. Even if they were all just as bad as he was.
"Right. Well, try not to get blown up on the way back to wherever it is you guys are squatting now." She probably shouldn't have said that, but she also didn't feel right telling him to be safe. He made her emotionally confused, which frustrated the crap out of her.

His smile turned nasty, "Or Maybe we'll just show up and save your asses again."
no subject
"Go take care of your people, Ward." There might be a hint of sarcasm in her tone as she closes the door a bit roughly.
