[Eyebrows rising in amusement, Skye can't help but laugh a little.]

You just made a mistake by telling me that. But, don't worry. I'm not big on singing in public either. Unless I'm really drunk. Then be prepared to be wowed by my killer impression of Celine Dion.

Oh, I'm ready to be blown away.

[There's equal parts challenge and suggestion in her voice. She might as well have just winked.]

[She laid it on thick, and honestly? Skye liked it.]

Yeah, well, give me a few more of these and a couple of shots and I'll blow you away. Or make your ears bleed. One or the other.

[Clara leans back in her seat, and takes a large sip of her drink before-]

Any of the Spice Girls.

[A deep, dark confession.]

A big enough bottle of wine, and you could just roll a die.

[Clearly her mentioning the Spice Girls has Skye excited, as she leans against the table.]

Who's your favorite?

[She doesn’t even have to think about it. Hello, first crush.]

[It's been such a long time since Skye has listened to their music, but she may have been obsessed with them when she was younger.]

So should I go buy a bottle of wine, or...?

[ohshutup]

[A little "no, no" waggle of her pointer finger.]

I'm buying the next round, whatever it is. Just say the word.

[Skye raises her hands, showing that she's not going to fight her on that.]

Whatever you want.

[Because she's noticing Clara doesn't seem to be drinking very much from her glass right now.]

Except for tea.

[Clara sees Skye look at her half-empty (half-full?) drink, and she quickly picks it up and downs another deep swallow, like she's trying to get rid of evidence. Look, she rides a motorcycle, she knows she should be able to down her liquor based on stereotypes alone!]

Whiskey's not my favorite, [she manages through the aftermath, halfway to laughing.] You can have the rest of this one, and I'll grab some cabernet.

[Which she scoots out of her chair and disappears to retrieve, returning about half a minute later with a bottle and two stemless, rounded glasses. She gets to work on the bottle (twist-off, the cheap stuff), making quick work of it.]

[Skye remembered her saying she could hold her alcohol, but she still stares in awe at how she downs most of the drink in one shot.]

Oh. Sorry.

[She can't even be upset at herself for getting something Clara doesn't like, because she's already hurrying off to get wine. Skye hasn't had wine in a while, but she wasn't about to shoot it down. Especially when Clara was paying for it.]

You weren't kidding about your alcohol tolerance. Where's mine?

[Reaching for one of the glasses, Skye watches as she tears off the wrap around the bottle.]

[And she'll especially not be kidding now that she's drinking something she actually likes the taste of. She pours Skye a glass, and then herself.]

Teachers drink wine like water, I swear. I'd always have about two glasses every night with my marking.

[Just a further explanation for her tolerance, and the only sort Skye is likely to get the rest of the truth is forced to come out.]

Are you sure that's not just a 'you' thing?

[Skye smiles against the rim of her glass, and she's about to take a sip from it before she realizes she didn't cheers her. Which is what she does by leaning forward on the table to be able to reach Clara's glass.]

I've never felt so sophisticated in a bar before.

[She pretends to be offended by the implication for a moment, but it's not worth the effort. The first delicious swallow of wine disappears down her throat, and she meet's Skye's clink with a smile.]

I guess I haven't been to many bars. Never liked them, when I was younger. Too many sweaty boys playing "Save the Queen".

I mean, I could continue that tradition here.

[Leaning back in her seat, Skye takes a sip she has to try and disguise the face she wants to make. That was some dry wine.]

You might have to help me with the lyrics though.

[Clara tips back her head, laughing a bit at Skye's expense.]

It's a drinking game. The song is "God Save the Queen".

[Scooting a little in her seat, she reaches down into her bag and rummages for a moment. When her hand reappears, it's holding a shiny five pence coin. It had been in her pocket the day she woke up here, next to her phone.]

Usually it's played with beer, and there's only one rule.

Alright, so I'm not caught up on British Culture. Sue me.

[She's not actually offended by Clara laughing at her. In fact, she says all of that with a smile on her face.]

That you have to save the coin?

[ohshutup]

[She answers by reaching over the table and plunking the silver coin right into Skye's wine glass.]

She's drowning, Skye. Better hurry.

You're evil.

[Still, Skye picks up her glass and chugs back the nasty wine, only stopping when she feels the coin hit her lip.

Not so graciously she picks out the coin while coughing.]

I think I'm going to stick to what I got.

[Skye chokes out, eyes watering as she reaches for her drink and takes a sip from it. Not that it helps much. Wiping her cheeks to get rid of the tears, Skye shakes her head disapprovingly at Clara.]

That was cruel and you know it.

[Standing up enough to be able to lean over the table and reach Clara's glass, Skye plops the coin in there.]

Only fair.

[Clara's ankle brushes against Skye's as she lifts up her own glass, rattling the coin around.]

Cheers.

[Aaand she drains it swiftly and easily, no trace of the grimace she'd shown at the taste of the whiskey and coke. Even in the height of her youth she was never one to drain drinks at the chance of impressing boys, but she wants to see the awed look in Skye's eyes again. Tongue darting out to collect a drop from the corner of her mouth, she deposits the coin on the table and pours herself another glass.]

You alright?

[And she gets that awed look with the way she drinks the entire glass like it's water. Tongue pressing against the inside of her cheek, Skye fails not to smile even bigger when Clara gets very coy. She sees what you're doing, Clara.]

Apparently not as good as you.

[It doesn't take very long for that warm feeling to spread throughout her body as the alcohol hits her. She has to wonder if that would've done anything to Clara. She still finds it hard to believe someone as small as her can hold their alcohol as much as she says she can.]

Why do I feel like that isn't the first time you've tricked someone into doing this game?

[Probably because Clara is cheeky enough to do just that.]

I'm pretty persuasive.

[Mainly with her words, but she's not ashamed to use the right bat of her eyelashes in a case like this.]

Yeah, I'm noticing that.

[Not that she's at all mad by it. She had noticed the dartboard before, but now she's got an idea in mind. Which would hopefully be payback for what Clara just did to her.]

I've got an idea if you're game.

Yeah? [You've got her absolute attention.] What do you have in mind?

We play 7 rounds of darts, and whoever wins has to buy the losers least favorite shot and they have to drink it.

[And Skye is just confident enough in her dart skills to think she'll win this.]
